Welcome Ministry

Good Afternoon  everyone

I am so sorry that I will need to postpone the Formation for the Ministry of Welcome which was scheduled for this coming Saturday (16th July) as I have tested positive for Covid this morning.  I am not feeling too bad (just flu-like symptoms) but I am obviously contagious so we will need to re-schedule it!

I wanted to let you know as soon as possible so you can contact those you know are coming and to perhaps use your networking in the Parish to let people know in advance that it is postponed.

I will be going on the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes from 29th July – 4th August.  

Also, I am not sure if August is the best month to deliver this – as many people take their holidays in August or are busy with family members because of the school holidays.

I could re-schedule it for Sunday 18th September in the afternoon or on Saturday 15th October with our original timetable. Alternatively, we could do a weekday evening in September.

Please let me know your thoughts and preferred date / time so I can get the revised booking into my diary.

We are inviting volunteers to become Welcomers in our church. If you are interested, you are warmly invited to attend a time of Reflection and Formation for the ‘Ministry of Welcome’ on Saturday 16th July from 11.00 – 15.00 in the Hall of the Holy Redeemer Church, Upper Church Road, Hollington,TN37 7AS. We will consider how we can enable our Parish and Church communities to reach out to welcome and include everyone. This Formation enables you to explore how this can be achieved through, scripture, prayer and reflection using a multi-sensory approach, as well as considering disability awareness and different groups who may not feel included.  Please bring your own packed lunch. This will be led Margaret Fraher, the Diocesan Inclusion Adviser, who is also a member of the Diocesan Formation Team.
